Cedar Creek Yacht Club Sailing Cedar Creek Lake 75 Miles Southeast of Dallas, Texas |
Club History |
CCYC History It all began in September, 1997, when two die-hard sailors from the lake area distributed "flyers" on sailboats moored at Marimac Marina and other marinas around Cedar Creek Lake and in most of the private slips and boat houses soliciting sailboat owners to band together and share their love of sailing. The resulting seven responses led to two sailboat races that year, with 27 boats turning out for the first race and 15 for the second. In March, 1998, the group met again, this time approving by-laws, electing officers, committee chairs and the Board of Governors. The official CCYC was formed and the March - October sailing season began. Today the home port of Cedar Creek Yacht Club (CCYC) is Don’s Port Marina, Tool, Henderson County, Texas. The annual meeting for election of Governors and officers of the Club is held on the fourth Saturday of February each year.
